## What this is

Spiral Dynamics applied to the history of software development: nine eras from 1945 to now, the mechanism that moves one era to the next, and a nine-question instrument that places a team on the spiral.

## The eras

- **Beige** (1945–1958, individual): The machine is the constraint
- **Purple** (1958–1968, collective): Access is granted, not taken
- **Red** (1968–1980, individual): One person who can actually do it
- **Blue** (1980–1992, collective): There is one right way to do this
- **Orange** (1992–2001, individual): Ship it and win
- **Green** (2001–2022, collective): The team is the unit of delivery
- **Yellow** (2023–2025, individual): One person, a system of agents
- **Turquoise** (2025 →, collective): Humans and agents as one working body
- **Coral** (?, individual): When production is free, what is scarce?

## The mechanism

Life conditions change, the current stage's answer stops paying, and the next stage transcends and includes it. Stages alternate between individual (I) and collective (WE) orientation, which is what makes the model usable for forecasting: an individual stage is always answered by a collective one.

## Published team profiles

Teams publish their centre of gravity as a public record under the key spiral.map.entry in their own namespace. Read one with AIMEAT.data.getPublic(ownerGaii, 'spiral.map.entry'); list them with GET /v1/memory/discover?prefix=spiral.map.
